As of tomorrow, I will have been tracking eating habits for a week, and I wanted to see what effect that amount of tracking has had on how I've been eating. I've felt for some time now, that unless you're adamant about nutrition info, you really have no idea about what kind of impact you're having on yourself with each meal.
This is how I did on the first day I started tracking, 1/14/10:
And this is how I was doing yesterday, 1/19/10:
The first thing I notice is the vast change in the amount of calories; I was eating what was then 97% of my daily allowance, and (I did adjust that allowance along the way) now I'm comfortable eating 62%. My fat is up, my cholesterol intake is up, and my sugar and protein are down, which is a good thing since I was getting to much of both of those. I still need to work on getting sugar and protein down, but they're moving in the right direction. I feel like I'm making good progress and I'm sure it's only a matter of time before the scale concurs with me.All this conjunction with some level of activity every day will have a dramatic impact on my overall fitness, and put me in a good place to run with less impact on my knees and build muscle through weightlifting.
BTW, don't know if anyone saw this article in the last couple days, but apparently 30 minutes of weightlifting a week will assist with loosing belly fat and what's more? if you put a run (or other cardio) after weightlifting for 10 minutes 3 times a week it will have a greater impact than if you do it before the run.
Have an awesome day!
